The Delivery Manager is responsible for managing the delivery of technical solutions for the IT & Operations team in collaboration with the Transformation Director, project managers, Application Development team, third parties, IT & Operations leadership team and vendors. This role ensures that all solutions are delivered in accordance with plans, meeting the required standards and delivering value to the organization.
The role may oversee a number of operational or technical resources, analysts, Subject Matter experts & Quality Assurance individuals of varying seniority for CNA Hardy.
This role will provide management or project oversight of the teams to deliver ongoing changes to the Operations or IT teams working in an agile manner. The role works very closely with the Application Director, Project Managers, Programme Manager and CIO to identify and manage the change pipeline, and to define the priorities within the Transformation Programme and ensure quality delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- May manage, directly or indirectly, team of support professionals and third party contractors where applicable to develop and implement changes to a number of assigned project or strategic initiatives.
- Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of technical or business solutions, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and budget.
- Vendor Management: Engage and manage relationships with third-party vendors and service providers, ensuring they deliver high-quality solutions and services.
- Integration Management: Ensure seamless integration of third-party solutions into the existing IT infrastructure and applications
- Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand requirements, manage expectations, and ensure effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with third-party solutions, ensuring proactive measures are in place to address potential issues.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that all deliverables meet the required quality standards and comply with relevant regulations and best practices.
- Resource Management: Allocate and manage resources effectively to ensure optimal project delivery.
- Continuous Improvement: Promote a culture of continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to enhance processes and deliver better outcomes.
Activities managed by the role include:
- Development changes for business or IT initiatives including related activities such as installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Technical change delivery for bespoke and off the shelf applications and infrastructure used at CNAH.
- Develop and implement Operating model and technical change management activities
- Coordinate activities related to Application, Environment or Infrastructure changes
- Contribute to SOX, Audit and Internal Controls as required.
- Work with teams across IT and Operations to plan implementations of new releases and changes, and ensure a smooth handover to production.
- Ensure that all changes to CNAH are controlled, and ensure that the impact of the changes has been fully assessed and understood prior to implementation.
- Comply with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements and ensure, at a level appropriate to the position, that appropriate measures are in place to ensure this compliance
- To implement a continuous improvement approach to service delivery

Skills, Knowledge & Experience
- Requires a broad understanding of insurance across multiple business areas including IT, Operations, UW or Claims
- Experience in implementing or driving project activities for both business and IT focused projects
- Requires a broad knowledge of the system development life cycle, and system and application program development alternatives
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills to work effectively with vendors, clients, peers, and CNA leadership.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills required to interact effectively with clients, systems staff, consultants, and vendors.
- Knowledge and experience of working within service delivery focused IT Department employing ITIL best practices and strong change management methods.
- Attention to detail, ability to function independently and ability to prioritise work
- Analytical and structured approach with Strong customer focus and Relationship management experience
- Strong experience of team management
- Experience of working with off-shore service providers
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field or equivalent work experience. A Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, ITIL) is a plus.
- Strong understanding of IT systems, infrastructure, and software development methodologies. Proficiency in project management tools and techniques.
- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
