Job Purpose
Global Sourcing and Procurement Services is looking for a diverse team of talented people who support our culture of collaboration and innovation.
A key aspect of this role is building collaborative relationships with our internal business partners, as well as relationships with suppliers.
This position will actively manage multiple highly visible, time‐sensitive activities, effectively interfacing with mid‐level management, and efficiently ensuring the sourcing process is completed consistent with AIG’s policies and goals.
The Category Sourcing Manager will partner with Business Partners, contract managers and Legal teams, and serve as a trusted advisor to developing and executing category strategy, objectives, and plans; negotiate and complete key strategic deals, and drive aspects of complex strategic sourcing process for assigned categories.
Job Responsibilities
- Support all aspects of the sourcing processes for assigned categories, including but not limited to supporting on contract negotiations of business and pricing terms and conditions, conducting RFx, work with the internal business partners to execute negotiations strategies, objectives, and plans.
- Support to standardized contracts, processes and systems, i.e., supplier selection criteria, supplier due diligence requirements, performance criteria, and management reporting.
- Perform cost benefit, financial analysis, identify and drive quality enhancement to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage relationships with suppliers for PO execution. Manage problems and schedule changes.
- Participate in cross functional sourcing project teams to develop AIG’s requirements for assigned category related services and to reach consensus on supplier selections. This includes working with team members and legal to draft necessary language to translate business needs into specific requirements for contract-related documents, e.g., Statements of Work (SOW), Letters of Authorization (LOAs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), etc. for assigned categories.
- Establish strong relationships with business stakeholders.
- Apply sourcing policy, interface between supplier and business with respect to specifications and budgets and, maintain procurement ethics in accordance with AIG’s global policies.
- Assess supplier performance to ensure suppliers fulfill their contractual obligations and are delivering quality services to business stakeholders.
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree
- Business English skill both Writing and Speaking (TOEIC score 800+ is preferred)
Preferred Qualifications 
- Advanced degree in related area, such as Contracts, Business or Supply Chain
- Experience leading and managing sourcing operation activitie
Required Skills and Experiences
- 3+ years of experience in strategic sourcing in the specified categories (category management, benchmarking, TCO (cost models), RFx, etc.) 
- Uses technical experience and analytical thinking
- Focused: quick learner, strategically prioritizes work, committed 
- Ability to influence others with excellent written and verbal communication skills    
- Self-motivated 
- Excellent relationship management skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively 
- Extremely customer-focused, taking the time to understand the needs of the business
- Problem solver: analytical-minded, challenges existing processes, critical thinker
- Japanese fluency and Business level English
