The Data Office supports the overall General Insurance product by managing Data, Data Governance, and the presentation of the data (Business Intelligence Delivery).
How you will create an impact
We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated BI Application Support Lead to take ownership of BAU support operations for our Underwriting (UW) reporting applications. This role is critical to ensuring consistent application availability, compliance with internal and regulatory standards and ongoing enhancements of our BI capabilities.
You will be responsible for managing BAU support activities, engaging with business stakeholders, overseeing vendor staff, and maintaining production stability across multiple BI platforms. The role requires deep expertise in business intelligence tools, SDLC practices, data governance, and support operations.
Participate in all the conversations with stakeholders to understand the detailed requirements
Provide timelines and estimates
Define Delivery priorities by communicating effectively with business partners, Data Architecture, Data Engineering, and IT project groups
Implement adequate standards for application delivery
Document all the key information and Design details
Work with external teams viz. QA, UAT teams to ensure all the quality, delivery is maintained for all the deliverables
Work with Vendor groups such as Sigma Computing to perform the required Proof of Concepts based on the Business needs
What you need to succeed
5-7 years in BI and Information delivery programs
Strong understanding of Data warehouse concepts including Star schema / Snowflake based models
Insurance Business knowledge and experience is preferred
At least 3 years experience in Finance industry
Experience in new Cloud based SAAS platforms such as Snowflake / Data Bricks and Sigma Computing software
Release and Change management experience on various BI platforms like PBI, Tableau, Cognos
Strong understanding of SDLC and BAU support/delivery practices
Agile delivery and understanding of tools such as Rally to manage day to day activities
Strategic thinking is a key with ability to understand and execute the long-term deliveries
Must be highly proactive and self-motivated
Ability to drive best practices
Strong understanding of data visualization tools and advanced analytics software
Undergraduate degree in a computer science, data analytics or equivalent demonstration of advanced technical abilities
