You will be part of a diverse team, where you celebrate and support each other’s successes. This challenging and rewarding role is part of our Direct Commercial insurance team based in York.
What you will be doing:
Selling business insurance to SME customers, having great conversations to understand their needs and requirements.
Identifying opportunities to cross sell and up sell our commercial product line, based on customers' needs.
Speaking to existing customers and resolving their queries, through both phone and email.
You will have individual targets, which you are accountable for achieving. These are balanced between sales, quality and customer satisfaction while managing your time.
You will become an expert in our technical products and our IT systems
Participating in weekly team meetings and huddles to discuss problem solving, as well as reviewing your individual and team performance.
Working with other teams across the contact centre to provide good outcomes for our customers and Hiscox.
Our trainers will spend 5 weeks helping you build your knowledge of our products and systems. The training is varied and includes online and self-learning. After training, you will move into an Academy to further strengthen your skills for another 4 weeks.

Hours: This is a full-time role working 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm.
Assessment Centres
If you’re shortlisted, you’ll be invited to attend an assessment centre at our York office on the afternoon of Tuesday 25th or Wednesday 26th November. If you’re unable to make these dates, don’t worry - we’d still love to hear from you.
Start Date: Successful candidates will join us on Monday 5th January.
Support and Training
All new hires take part in a comprehensive five-week training programme covering our systems, products, and regulatory requirements. This is followed by a four-week Academy phase designed to help you build confidence and develop your skills.
You won’t be on your own - we’ll provide full support every step of the way to help you settle in and succeed.
