To underwrite and help develop the entire suite of International Casualty Treaty products to ensure the fulfilment of all key performance indicators.
Job Description
Underwriting & Pricing all new and renewal business to generate underwriting profit
Contribute to developing the International Casualty Treaty portfolio
Continuously enhance knowledge base for the quantitative & qualitative side of the role
Generating new business leads
Helping drive hub office growth
Performing project and a wide range of general data analysis
Regulatory Responsibilities
Advise, assist and service customers on insurance and risk matters to promote customers’ satisfaction;
Complete all required annual product review assessments to agreed timescales with approvals obtained and recorded
Follow all Chaucer Group Product Governance processes in the UCM and obtain appropriate approvals
Foster positive relationships with Customers and attain an understanding of their needs;
Ensure that Customer Complaints are promptly identified, recorded and referred as appropriate; and,
Ensure that the principles of providing good customer outcomes and the fair treatment of customers are upheld by Agents and Service Providers.
Skills and Competencies
Multiple years of Casualty Treaty Underwriting experience
Strong understanding of all Casualty Treaty Products
Actuarial pricing experience would be advantageous
Knowledge and awareness of the issues with Ogden discount rate changes and periodic payment orders
Understanding of Excel and Word
Strong mathematical skills
Interest in world and economic affairs
Attention to detail and strong work ethic
Experience using actuarial pricing tools would be desirable
Education
GCSE Maths grade B or above
Minimum of 8 other GCSEs grade C or above (or equivalent)
3 A Levels (grades A-C) or equivalent
ACII qualified or equivalent
Actuarial qualification would be desirable
