Job Summary
Are you a detail-oriented professional with a passion for uncovering the truth and protecting organizations from financial harm? As a Fraud Investigator Specialist, you will play a critical role in identifying, investigating, and resolving fraudulent activities across various channels. You will conduct thorough investigations into suspected internal fraudulent activity related to employees & third-party vendors/service providers, in accordance with lawful fraud examination techniques, utilizing the ACFE Fraud Examiners Manual for guidance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Clearly and concisely prepare comprehensive investigative reports & present findings to management & legal teams.
- Collaborate with law enforcement, regulatory bodies & other insurers to share information and coordinate anti-fraud efforts, as needed. Ensure reporting meets management's expectations and department standards.
- Ensure individual compliance with accepted fraud investigation standards, Global Auditing Standards and Audit Services’ Charter. Complete all tasks with ethics and professionalism, maintaining integrity, objectivity, independence, honesty, and professional courage, in accordance with the Global Auditing Standards.
- When not engaged in investigative activity, expected to assist with Audit projects commensurate with the duties of a Staff Auditor. Review & analyze financial documents, insurance policies, and claims to identify irregularities & patterns indicative of fraud, and consulting/advisory activities on behalf of management to improve controls andefficiency of operations.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. In lieu of bachelor’s degree, must have 7 years of investigative experience; financial or insurance related experience a plus
- 3 years of investigative experience is required; financial or insurance related experience is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of insurance processes, fraud schemes, and investigative techniques is preferred.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Fraud Examiner, CFE/ Certified in Financial Forensics, CFF) are preferred, and one will be required within first two years of employment.
- Insurance Agent License is preferred and will be required within first year of employment.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases simultaneously.
