About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Co-op Student to join our Finance team as a Financial Accountant for the Winter semester (Jan-Apr). This is an excellent opportunity for a student pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and reports
- Support account reconciliations and journal entries
- Help maintain general ledger accuracy and integrity
- Participate in budgeting and forecasting activities
- Assist with variance analysis and reporting
- Support internal audits and compliance activities
- Help with accounts payable/receivable processes as needed
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives within the finance function
- Perform ad hoc financial analysis and reporting tasks
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) is an asset
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
