Exciting opportunity to lead the development and delivery of the internal communications strategy, ensuring employees are informed, engaged, and aligned with the organisation’s purpose, values, and priorities. This role owns all internal communications channels and platforms, driving consistency, clarity, and impact across the employee experience. 
You will act as a senior advisor to the Director of Communications and Stakeholder Engagement and be a champion of organisational culture.  Role model the values, behaviours, and decision-making that supports an inclusive and high performing diverse team with a culture that sets the Lloyd’s Communications & Stakeholder Engagement team up for success. 
Key accountabilities include:
Strategic Leadership
- In conjunction with the Director of Communications and Stakeholder Engagement, develop and implement a cohesive internal communications strategy aligned with Corporation priorities and reputation goals. 
- Advise senior leaders on effective employee engagement, change communications, and leadership visibility. 
Channel Ownership & Optimisation
- Own and manage all internal communications channels, including intranet (MyLloyd’s), email, newsletters, digital signage, collaboration platforms (e.g. Teams, Engage), and Colleague Town Halls. 
- Ensure channels are fit-for-purpose, accessible, and continuously improved based on employee feedback and analytics. 
- Lead governance and editorial planning across channels to ensure consistency and quality. 
Content & Campaign Delivery
- Oversee the creation and delivery of compelling, audience-focused content that informs, inspires, and connects employees. 
- Lead strategic campaigns around key initiatives such as transformation, culture, DE&I, and leadership communications. 
- Ensure messaging is aligned, timely, and tailored to diverse employee groups. 
Leadership & Change Communications
- Partner with senior leaders to shape and deliver communications that support organisational change, strategy rollouts, and performance updates. 
- Provide coaching and support to leaders on tone, messaging, and delivery. 
Measurement & Insight
- Working with the Head of Communications Planning & Insights, establish KPIs and feedback mechanisms to evaluate the effectiveness of internal communications. 
- Use data and insight to inform strategy, improve engagement, and demonstrate impact. 
Collaboration & Culture
Champion inclusive communications that reflect the organisation’s values and promote belonging
Key skills you will need to demonstrate:  
- Proven experience in leading internal communications within a complex organisation. 
- Understanding of internal channels and digital communications platforms. 
- Experience in change communications and leadership engagement. 
- Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills. 
- Proven stakeholder management and influencing capabilities. 
- Able to manage a programme of work and deliver to agreed deadlines. 
- Resilience – including the ability to anticipate risks and manage resistance. 
You will need experience in:
- Leading internal communications in a large or complex organisation, with a track record of delivering strategic campaigns and employee engagement initiatives. 
- Designing and delivering strategic internal campaigns that support business transformation, cultural initiatives, and leadership messaging. 
- Managing internal channels, including intranet platforms, collaboration tools, email systems, and events, with a focus on optimisation and governance. 
- Change communications and leadership engagement, supporting senior leaders in communicating transformation, strategy, and culture effectively across diverse employee groups. 
- Employee insight and feedback (e.g. pulse surveys, engagement scores, focus groups) to shape communications strategy and improve effectiveness. 
- Developing leadership communications capability, including coaching senior leaders on tone, storytelling, and delivery across internal channels. 
- Leading internal communications during periods of change or crises, with a focus on clarity, empathy, and employee confidence.
