Over the two-year duration of the program, successful candidates will work in a dynamic environment combining formal and experience-based training alongside meaningful and rewarding work experience. How you will create an impact
Our Express Claims Team is responsible for managing low quantum claims across multiple insurance products lines, such as Commercial Property, Casualty and Marine claims. Our objective is to manage these smaller claims efficiently and in a streamlined approach to ensure our customers receive a claims resolution as quickly as possible.
You will learn to manage a portfolio of Express claims end to end, ensuring our customers are kept informed on progress of their claim right through to resolution. Making sure that the review process complies with AIG’s policies & procedures, our regulatory and industry code requirements and engage External Service Providers (e.g. Builders, Loss Adjustors etc) where required, to ensure qualitative decision making in a timely manner.
Key accountabilities in this role will include but not limited to:
To resolve claims within your authority in a cost-effective manner by ensuring that claims are accurately assessed as to indemnity, liability, and quantum.
Take a proactive approach to claims management i.e., determining at earliest juncture indemnity, liability, and quantum with a view to actioning matter to finalisation.
Manage allocated claims portfolio in accordance with all department issued and company guidelines and procedures
Manage external service providers retained by AIG or the insured to ensure cost effective outcomes and compliance with agreed service commitments
Comply with all Regulatory obligations and Codes of Practice
Always communicate in a professional and responsive manner being mindful of maintaining AIG’s brand and reputation
Form a view about policy response to notifications as promptly as possible and communicate that view to the external customer in a clear and concise manner which enhances the company’s relationship with that customer.
Build and maintain solid relationships with colleagues, other AIG personnel, clients, brokers and other external parties
Embrace a learning culture and environment and identify / communicate areas of improvement
Continuously develop skills to enhance the ability to manage claims, problem solving and customer communication
Be actively involved in team meetings, activities and training to support a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement
What you’ll need to succeed
Candidates MUST have graduated within the last 2 years by February 2026.
AIG seeks candidates who have demonstrated outstanding academic and extracurricular achievement, possess strong analytical and interpersonal skills, and are enthusiastic about and committed to the insurance industry.
Excellent computer skills including the Microsoft Office suite of applications
A curious nature and a customer service mindset with good communication skills (verbal and written).
Enthusiastic team player with the ability to optimise business values to clients by delivering high-quality services and positive client experiences to sustain and enhance the customer base.
Passion for customer service excellence and ability to build, develop and maintain positive relationships
High level of initiative and ability to prioritise tasks in an agile environment along with excellent time management and organisational ability.
Strong business acumen with the ability to analyse data and use it for decision-making
Tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Economics or Law would be desirable.
